A brand new "what"?

Arrived in New Jersey on March 30. It seems nothing I can start without the SSN which is expected in 3 weeks. Kinda stuck here, no car, no cell phone.... every form to be filled out requires an SSN. Thought I could at least take an ESL class in the meantime. Then again, the summer school would only begin in late May or early June.

Final Countdown! 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.....

Have neglected my Blog for too long. Got my ticket confirmed on 3/30 for New Jersey, 14 days to go from today. Went crazy with the work transition in the office. Got a pile of stuff lying on my sister's living room now. Got to run some personal business in 2 weeks. March 15 was my last day with the company, however, will need to go to the office a couple of trips to help the new successor for some important tasks.

All in all, no exciting at all!

About the book - "Who moved my Cheese?"

No doubt it's a parable; so easy to understand. Most of all, it's interesting to read, unlike the similar self-helping books that make things even harder or complicated. I also read some reviews posted on the website of Barnes and Noble. All the comments are positive, and people admitted that they have benefited from reading this book. I agree to every remark Haw made throughout his journey to retrieve his Cheese. I believe the book is more relate to work places. Well, suppose there isn't enough Cheese for everyone? Then, besides Hem, Haw will be ruled out from the scene as well. Should everyone act like Sniff, Scurry and Haw, would the work environment be just like a jungle? Is there anything worth persisting? Then again, my questions will be:

What if you never ever have the Cheese before, or
don't know what your Cheese is, or

don't even need it at all???

Tired as usual and felt sleepy after reading some pages of the book assigned by my teacher, I lay down for a rest. The phone rang; and it was my dear lass friend, Mimi! We haven't talked to each other for quite a while. She is such a gorgeous girl that I like her very much and treat her as my "adopted niece". I became acquainted with her at my last job, which only lasted for 4 months. Sometimes I believe that it was the universe to bring me there only to meet with Mimi. After we hung up the phone, I found that I wasn't that tired after all and got up to write this post. Yeah, that's what friends are for!

It's obvious that ever since I started my blog here in early December 2004, I have been stuck for inspiration for how to keep my blog going. Quite interesting though that the homework for the very last week of year 2004, assigned by my English teacher, was to summarize key events that I thought it would be worthwhile to note them down. I guess if I could finish my homework, it might be a good idea to post it here - one post to cover the entire year! Another subject to be covered in my homework was to outline my plan for 2005 as well.

Summary of key events in 2004
As compared to my countless years of endless boredom, the year of 2004 seems a little different. It all started by the end of 2003 when I coincidently ran into Ms. Barbara Klita, the mother of a missing Alaskan young man, Fred Frontier. During my call of helping Ms. Klita, I met with quite a few nice people all over the places. Also from the same call, I became a member of TaiwanHo community and engaged in the forum a lot, and also communicate with a few of wonderful members on the board. Some of them became my friends too. I do appreciate this great opportunity of getting to know these nice, wonderful friends who are living in different places all over the world. It's so amazing that I even met with some of them in person; and am anticipating to meet with a few more in the very near future.

The year of 2004 was an election year in Taiwan. We voted our president in March and legislators in November. The presidential election turned out to be a mess for the rest of the year, and it probably would be the same for the next 3 years, as the government failed to win the majority in the parliament.

2004 was a disastrous year globally; the war in Iraq, terrorist attacks from time to time and the recent tsunamis in South Asia and Africa with hundreds of thousands people taken away and millions people left homeless.

Personally, I'm at an intersection right now as I might move to the U.S.A. This homework may clear my writer's block, however, things become more complicated for me to deal with as to how to take the next step/direction.

What to expect or plan for year 2005
It may be easier hanging around here, surviving on a minimum, with no quality at all. To dream a better life, it does need guts and determination, that's definitely not for an elder person to start trying to achieve. Dreams only come true to little girls like Cinderella!

However, you can't manipulate your own destiny. When it comes, you just have to follow. The first tough issue might be to get my butt out of this job! On the other hand, I'm afraid that I could end up in another nasty place, as bad as where I am now!

If I should have to relocate, I would be facing an uncertain future. If I don't, I would still consider finding a new job here. Either way is not easy for me at my age with my background. That's pretty annoying!
